Mercs Jiu-jitsu MMA Fitness Training is a Jiu-jitsu based gym located in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Founded by Husband & Wife owners Justin and Jody Mercado in 2021 with the thought of creating a family environment where everyone can feel welcomed while learning, growing, and working out.
The gym features Adult and Youth Brazilian Jiu-jitsu, Strength & Conditioning, and Mixed Martial Arts. All classes are under the instruction of owner, Professor “Mercs” Justin Mercado who has over 20 years of Jiu-jitsu, Kajukenbo, Boxing, Kickboxing, Muay Thai, and Strength training.

This class is geared to adults of all levels. The “Gentle Art” of Jiujitsu is based on ground fighting. Takedowns into submissions and or controlling your opponent on the ground are the objectives.
If you want your child to start in a Martial Art, Jiu-jitsu is the place to start. They start with the basic fundamentals of the “Gentle Art” from beginning to end. There’s also Youth Boxing Available to add to there Self-Defense.

No Gi Jiu-jitsu
This is a basic Jiu-jitsu based class without wearing a gi. This class is also based on ground fighting utilizing the limbs instead of the gi material to get those submissions.
Strength & Conditioning
This class has been given the name of “Death Class” by Coach Mercs students in Hawaiʻi and it continues here in Colorado Springs. This class is a variety of High Intensity Interval Training, Fight Camp Preparation, all geared towards preparing you in your Jiu-jitsu and MMA Training as well as everyday training.
Mixed Martial Arts (MMA)
This Program is geared to get members ready to fight in Amateur and Professional Boxing or MMA bouts. This class covers Boxing, Muay Thai/Kickboxing, and other Martial Arts as needed to prepare for fights.
